| (전도서 6) 3 : 사람이 비록 일백 자녀를 낳고 또 장수하여 사는 날이 많을찌라도 그 심령에 낙이 족하지 못하고 또 그 몸이 매장되지 못하면 나는 이르기를 낙태된 자가 저보다 낫다 하노니 4 : 낙태된 자는 헛되이 왔다가 어두운 중에 가매 그 이름이 어두움에 덮이니 5 : 햇빛을 보지 못하고 알지 못하나 이가 저보다 평안함이라 (새번역) 3 : 사람이 자녀를 백 명이나 낳고 오랫동안 살았다고 하자. 그가 아무리 오래 살았다고 하더라도, 그 재산으로 즐거움을 누리지도 못하고, 죽은 다음에 제대로 묻히지도 못한다면, 차라리 태어날 때에 죽어서 나온 아이가 그 사람보다 더 낫다. 4 : 태어날 때에 죽어서 나온 아이는, 뜻없이 왔다가 어둠 속으로 사라지며, 그 속에서 영영 잊혀진다. 5 : 세상을 보지도 못하고, 인생이 무엇인지 알지도 못한다. 그러나 이 아이는 그 사람보다 더 편하게 안식을 누리지 않는가!
